Things just keep getting worse for Harrison Ford on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. Early reports suggested that the door of the Millennium Falcon injured Ford’s ankle, but now it appears that Han Solo’s leg is actually broken and that the projected delays may be even more substantial than once thought.

Jedi News is reporting that things are not going well on the set:

“We're hearing via a number of sources that production on Episode VII could be delayed due to the severe nature of Harrison Ford's leg injury.

Obviously, this is devastating news to fanboys and even the most casual of observers alike. The movie is supposed to be out during Christmastime 2015, and Disney has already laid out an ambitious schedule of sequels for spinoffs all tied to making this first release date.

Given their expansive budget, it may be possible for J.J. Abrams and co. to hustle through production without losing anything in the way of quality, but that is far from an ideal solution.

Of course, there’s the possibility of altering Ford’s role or completely writing him out of the movie. But who would supply the pithy one-liners?

No, that is one solution we just cannot abide.
