Sherri Shepherd, Jenny McCarthy Leaving "The View"

Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy are both leaving "The View," making Whoopi Goldberg the only remaining cast member.

In the game of The View Survivor, we have our winner: Whoopi Goldberg.

On the heels of Barbara Walters’ retirement comes the announcement today that both Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy will be leaving the show as well. That leaves Goldberg as the only remaining member of the four-woman panel, which according to an ABC statement “will be moving in an exciting new direction next year.”

Shepherd joined the show as a guest host in 2006, and had the following to say to The Wrap in a statement of her own:

“It's been seven wonderful years on The View and after careful consideration it is time for me to move on. I am extremely grateful to Barbara Walters and [executive producer] Bill Geddie for giving me the opportunity.

Do those new opportunities include some sort of real life version of Queen of Jordan? Please say yes. We need more D’Fwan.

As for McCarthy, she chose to announce her departure via Twitter:

If Sherri goes... I go too. #sisters
My View will be changing too. As will with many hard working folks. Thanks to everyone at the show for your dedication and an amazing year.

It’s only been a year on the show for McCarthy, who perhaps can find new life on TV as host of an updated, sadder version of Singled Out.
