At the Produced By conference in Los Angeles, Seth Rogen said something we're all thinking: movie ratings are stupid. The actor is known for his mostly R-rated comedies, but he said he's learned to stop making big budget films so he can do what he wants.

"There’s nothing more frustrating than being on set and coming up with a joke and being told you can’t do it because it’s a PG movie," he said. "It’s like boxing with your hands tied behind your  back … because of some weird ratings structure."

Specifically, Rogen and his producing partner Evan Goldberg mentioned Green Hornet. "We learned not to make $200 million movies. It’s not fun," Rogen said. He also said it took them forever to get Neighbors made, and the project was even abandoned at one point. Eventually, Rogen said they cut the budget in half and made the movie they wanted to make.

"At least we didn’t make a movie we hate and had to work on for a year and a half," he said. Touche, sir.
