Marvel may be prepping for the release of Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers 2 over the next year, but that isn’t stopping the studio from planning for the future. And apparently that future involves a certain Sorcerer Supreme. According to Variety, the studio is in serious talks with Scott Derrickson to direct its upcoming Doctor Strange film. The site stresses that no deal has been finalized, but one is expected shortly.

This news comes just weeks after it was announced that Edgar Wright would be leaving the studio’s Ant-Man. There is still no replacement director for that film yet, but it’s evident that the studio still has other projects to get off the ground. Derrickson is best known for The Exorcism of Emily Rose and Sinister. We’ll keep you updated when/if a deal becomes official.
