A plane crash in Massachusetts left seven people dead, including Philadelphia Inquirer co-owner Lewis Katz.
The Associated Press reports that the plane, a Gulfstream IV destined for Atlantic City, N.J., crashed after leaving Hanscom Field in Bedford, Mass. around 9:40 p.m. last night.
According to the Associated Press, Katz's death was confirmed by his business partner, Harold H.F. "Gerry" Lenfest, who said their attorney, Richard Sprague, had told him. Katz, 72, and Lenfest had just bought out their partners, purchasing the Inquirer for $88 million this week.
The names of the six other victims have yet to be released, and officials have offered no information about what caused the crash. However, the Associated Press notes that the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
