Following incidents at Chipotle, Chili's and Sonic, the NRA felt compelled to speak up about the argument over people bringing guns into restaurants.
The organization released an open letter on Friday, eventually acknowledging that it's a bit odd and unnecessary for a collection of people to mob into a restaurant with rifles:
Recently, demonstrators have been showing up in various public places, including coffee shops and fast food restaurants, openly toting a variety of tactical long guns. Unlicensed open carry of handguns is legal in about half the U.S. states, and it is relatively common and uncontroversial in some places.
The NRA even called it "downright weird" and "not a practical way to go normally about your business while being prepared to defend yourself."
Common sense wins every time.
