The Fab Four is heading to the small screen, according to Deadline. NBC and producer Michael Hirst (The Tudors, Vikings) are teaming up for an eight-episode miniseries based on the story of the most influential band of all time, The Beatles. Hirst will write the series, which will also be produced by Ben Silverman and Teri Weinberg.

This miniseries is another example of NBC going for more event programming, such as The Sound of Music and the recent Rosemary’s Baby remake. The Beatles have been the subject of miniseries and movies in the past, but few have managed to capture the true spirit of the band. Hirst is a veteran of high-quality, historical television, and he might be the right man to do the iconic band justice.
