Authorities in Miami say an early morning shooting left two people dead and many more injured today.

NBC Miami reports that gunfire erupted outside of an apartment complex around 2 a.m. Miami Police told NBC Miami that "50 to 60" shots were fired, fatally striking two men while injuring at least five more people. Kevin Richardson, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene, while 26-year-old Nakiel Jackson died later at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Miami Fire Rescue spokesman Lt. Ignatius Carroll called the scene "chaotic," and Miami Police Spokeswoman Frederica Burden said police still have no motive for the shooting:

At this point, we're not going to speculate as to what happened on the scene. The investigators have been here since 2 a.m. and we're going to give them their chance to do what they need to do to find out why this occurred.
