After crushing numerous roles in horror films, Mary Elizabeth Winstead is taking her talents to TV. She has just signed on to join Carlton Cuse’s new drama for A&E, The Returned. She’ll be playing one of the leads in this supernaturally-inclined series, which does not yet have an expected start date.
Upon closer examination, the show sounds pretty similar in premise to the ABC show Resurrection. Per Deadline:
"The Returned focuses on a small town that is turned upside down when several local people who have been long presumed dead suddenly reappear, bringing with them both positive and detrimental consequences. Winstead plays Rowan, the girlfriend of late musician Simon (Mat Vairo) who had a very difficult time getting past his death 10 years ago and now will have to adjust to his return."
Winstead has most recently appeared in the ABC pilot Exposed, and also will be featured in the movie Kill the Messenger, starring Jeremy Renner.
