You know how you can tell the Washington Redskins need to change their name? Because when you say it now, you kind of cringe as you do it. Something feels…wrong.
The general population seems to have adopted this school of thought, and largely support a name change. Native American tribes across the country have deemed it offensive, and have likewise asked that the name be changed.
Redskins owner Daniel Snyder has thus far refused all requests, however, leading to John Oliver to go off on the above assault during yesterday’s episode of Last Week Tonight. It is completely accurate and on-point, which means Snyder will just ignore it and go on living in denial like always.
