Have $25? You Can Take an Online Screenwriting Class Taught by James Franco

James Franco's screenwriting class is now available online.

James Franco, the undisputed king of causing social media controversy, is attempting to give the Internet something more than just half-naked selfies.

Franco launched a screenwriting class with Skillshare that gives those who have an interest in learning the craft a chance to get taught by Franco and his partner, Vince Jolivette, through 15 classes via video. Students will create a screen adaptation based on The Spoon River Anthology by Edgar Lee Masters, Winesburg, Ohio: A Group of Tales of Ohio Small-Town Life by Sherwood Anderson, or Pastures of Heaven by John Steinbeck. Jolivette will go over business aspects such as budgeting and pitching to studios. “I’m a big advocate for people going out and doing it and not waiting around for someone to let them into the gates of the film world. I hope this allows some people to do that," Franco told Fast Company.

The class is $25 for non-Skillshare members.
