What happens when a washed up movie star who played a transcendent superhero tries to put on a Broadway play?
We’re about to find out.
Fox has released the first trailer for Birdman, which stars Michael Keaton as the down-on-his-luck titular character. A comedy from director Alejandro González Iñárritu, the movie is actually an adaptation of the famous Raymond Carver short story What We Talk About When We Talk About Love.
In the days leading into Keaton’s big unveiling of his play, he must struggle with his personal demons while trying to improve his family life and maintain control over his production. The supporting cast is absolutely loaded, featuring Emma Stone, Edward Norton, Andrea Riseborough, Zach Galifianakis, Naomi Watts, and Amy Ryan.
Birdman will be released on October 17, and you can check out the first trailer above.
