Health Officials in Liberia Say Ebola Virus is Connected to 7 More Deaths

Fear of the disease appears to be helping its spread.

Per health officials in Liberia, seven recent deaths have been tied to the Ebola virus

According to the Associated Press, Deputy Health Minister Tolbert Nyenswah said the death toll has been increased to 16, with tests confirming that four of them were, in fact, the result of the virus. Furthermore, the Associated Press notes that the string of deaths is concerning because there haven't been any cases confirmed in Liberia in two months.

The outbreak is believed to have begun on May 30, and the virus, which has wreaked havoc in Guinea, is reportedly spreading to Sierra Leone.

Lastly, the Associated press adds that fear of the disease appears to have aided its spread, as people have reportedly taken to removing family members and loved ones from sick wards, impeding efforts to manage the outbreak.
