"Dota 2" International Prize Pool Blazes Past $10 Million

The prize pool for developer Valve's "Dota 2" International competition soars past $10 million.

You've been spending every waking hour of he past year practicing the free multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) Dota 2right? If not then you're going to miss out on the over $10 million in prizes at this years Dota 2eSports blowout, The International 2014.

Developer Valve (creators of Half-Life, Portal and the gaming service Steam, among others) has raised the cash by the sale of the Dota 2 strategy guide called The Compendium. With the competition a month away chances are that $10 million will grow. By comparison last years prize pool was $2.6 million dollars, a huge leap.

Valve's Dota 2 championships take place in Seattle from July 18-21 of 2014.
