The developer behind Bayonetta, Platinum Games, announced today that it will release a downloadable third-person action game based on Nickelodeon's animated show The Legend of Korra this fall.

Korra stars a young avatar, of the airbender variety, who can master the elements to fight off foes. The game will take place between the show's second and third seasons.

The game will be released on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC later this fall. A turn-based strategy version will launch for Nintendo 3DS this year from a different developer.

The Legend of Korra is Nickelodeon's follow-up to the hit animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender, which goes into its third season on June 27.
