Funimation Entertainment has signed an agreement to bring the Bayonetta anime to Western shores, the company announced this week. Bayonetta: Bloody Fate comes courtesy of the animation house Gonzo, which over the years has produced a number of films and tv shows, including Samurai 7 and Afro Samurai (and has a very pronounced look to their stylization).

While no major details about when fans might see Bloody Fate's western release in the U.S. and Canada, it stands to reason that Bayonetta 2's October release date on the Wii U may be a good indicator that the anime will likely hit later this year – at least going by trends for marketing and brand synergy. The film was originally released in Japan last November.
