Apple just released a new lower-end iMac that is $200 cheaper than the previous version.

The machine is still a little pricey, though, and shaving off those $200 does come with a consequence. The new iMac is now priced at $1,099, and comes with a 21.5-inch screen, 1.4GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, and 8GB of memory with a 500 GB hard drive. The processor is where the sacrifice is: this iMac's processor is just as powerful as the MacBook Air, which isn't saying very much. The previous edition of the iMac that was $1,299 came with a 2.7GHz quad-core i5 processor. Now you see where the money was saved.

Apple says the iMacs are on sell now. Cop or nah?
