Marvel has confirmed that Peyton Reed will direct its upcoming movie Ant-Man. After Edgar Wright left the film and talks with Adam McKay fell through, fans were worried that the comic book movie starring Paul Rudd wouldn't make its July 2015 release date.

However, Reed has signed on to direct and McKay is actually contributing to the script as a writer. Reed has only directed a handful of films, but some pretty big ones, including Bring It On, The Break-Up and Yes Man.

McKay tweeted last week that he met with Marvel but it wasn't going to work out as director. McKay is best known as Will Ferrell's comedy partner; he co-founded Funny or Die and co-wrote Talladega Nights, Anchorman and The Other Guys.

Per Marvel, Ant-Man is about a con man (Paul Rudd) who has "the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength." Michael Douglas is co-starring as his mentor, Dr. Pym.
