When you're young college seems like the promised land. You pick your own schedule, no one forces you to go to class, and the social scene looks like one endless party. But as you compile your list of prospective schools, it seems as if the adults in your life have all the advice. From what classes to take, to what you major you should pick, your family thinks they know what's best. Fast forward past getting lost on campus and failing your first few exams straight to senior year. Commencement is approaching and as you replay the events of your matriculation back in your head, you realize a lot of pitfalls could have been avoided had you just listened to your parents in the first place. But of course you'll never tell them that, would you?
