Watch The First Trailer For Melissa McCarthy's New Movie "Tammy"

She wrote the screenplay herself.

There’s no question that Melissa McCarthy is pure box office gold at the moment, and her new movie, Tammy, looks to continue her string of successive hits by again playing off her charm and trademark wit. The movie focuses on the titular Tammy, who is just having a terrible day. First her car was totaled, then she gets fired from her fast food job, and then she finds out her husband is cheating on her.

The debut trailer for the film shows a single scene from the movie where McCarthy robs a fast food joint with a paper bag over her head (a la Shia LaBeouf), while listening to Coolio’s “Gangsta’s Paradise.” McCarthy wrote the screenplay along with her husband, Ben Falcone, who is also serving as the film’s director.

Tammy will hit theaters on July 2.
