In an experiment on the streets of Paris, YouTube user norniTube had an actor dressed in baggy clothes begin to cough and collapse on the sidewalk. As he lays on the ground, dozens of people walk by without giving him a second look. No one helps. He stays there for more than five minutes, and even says "help me" aloud to get some attention. Still, no one stops. Then, in the next scene, an actor in a suit does the exact same thing—coughs and then collapes—and people immediately rush to his side.
The video has gotten strong responses on YouTube, with many commenters say that seeing someone on the ground is a common occurrence in big cities, and they couldn't possibly be expected to stop for every single person.
But, just as the video asks, "what if it was you?" Or, at the very least, someone you know?
