After already earning a reprimand and suspension from Duck Dynasty, resident patriarch and open racist/homophobe Phil Robertson has apparently not learned his lesson.

In the below video, Robertson refuses to back off his controversial comments made in the January issue of GQ:

He calls the media coverage of his suspension “absurd,” and decries those who spoke up against him by saying that “instead of acknowledging their sin, like you had better do, they railed against me for giving them the truth about their sins. Don’t deceive yourselves.”

How A&E chooses to handle this should be very interesting. Robertson’s reinstatement has included a lot of PSAs promoting unity and accepting others, so we’re not sure how they can keep running those without the irony rendering the message completely meaningless.

Ultimately, the ratings will probably decide Duck Dynasty’s fate. It’s the top-rated show on A&E, so we’re guessing most people will still be right in front of their TVs for the Season 6 premiere on June 11 despite the fact that one of the main subjects is a pretty awful person.
