The Man Who Created Alien, H.R. Giger Dead at 74

The artists who created Alien for the famous film series, H.R. Giger has died

Swiss surrealist artist H.R. Giger, who famously designed the monster in Alien that earned him an Oscar in 1979, has died at the age of 74.

Giger created the Xenomorph from Ridley Scott's Alien that continues to haunt our dreams. He also worked on the Dark Seed series and is credited as the inspiration behind id Software's John Romero in the creation of DOOM.

A new game, Alien: Isolationis set to drop later this year that tries to recapture the original films horror which is due in a large part to Giger's terrifying creation.
