After its pump-fake approval, lawmakers are already trying to make sure powdered alcohol is banned before anyone gets to try it.

As Grub Street reports, Minnesota Rep. Joe Atkins has been opposed from the jump and wants to give Palcohol the swift Mutombo finger wag. "Virtually every possible use for powdered alcohol is nefarious, not to mention potentially dangerous," Atkins said in a press release

Vermont wants to go to more extreme measures, making its sale punishable by up to two years in jail. State Commissioner of Liquor Control Mike Hogansees nothing but negatives

Kool-Aid, though? Anyway, Lipsmark LLC—the company that manufactures Palcohol—was prepared for this reaction, so it updated the website with information debunking all criticism:

1. People will snort it and get drunk. Response: We don't think so because, first, it's painful to snort due to the alcohol. Second, it's impractical. It takes approximately 60 minutes to snort the equivalent of one shot of vodka. Why would anyone do that when they can do a shot of liquid vodka in two seconds?

Who will be the bold soul to try this, should it ever see the light of day?
