Say hello to the gigantic, scaly, radioactive face that you'll probably be seeing every third summer for the next decade.

Godzilla, which is already a huge hit after taking in close to $200 million globally this weekend, will definitely get a sequel, according to the company that made it.

Jon Jashni, president of Legendary, told Variety that the filmmakers had a huge hurdle of doubt to scale after the last, awful, Godzilla movie in 1998, which overall was probably even less memorable than that awful Puff Daddy/Led Zeppelin track from its soundtrack.

But even though that doubt was there, sequels were always part of the conversation, Jashni said. Now it's confirmed that it's happening.

As far as how that next installment might go, Deadline reports that director Gareth Edwards would be back. Edwards has reportedly said he'd use the same restraint he used in the first film, such as only talking about the monster in the first part of the film to build suspense, a technique he learned from watching Spielberg films,

There has been no word about whether Dave Chappelle might be interested in a role. (note: Dave Chappelle taking a role in Godzilla is not a thing.)
