Last night’s episode of Game of Thrones drew 7.2 million viewers in the 9 PM timeslot, a tie for the highest mark in its history. Over the course of the entire night, the show had a total of 8.5 million viewers (including repeats), slightly fewer than their all-time best.

Unfortunately for those awaiting the fate of Tyrion in his trial by combat, Thrones will be off next weekend due to the Memorial Day holiday. While traditionally ratings are lower when a show comes back after a week off, we suspect that the numbers will be just fine.

Only three episodes remain in the season, and with many key plotlines left to be resolved there’s no doubt viewers will continue to come out in droves.
