Facebook hasn't given up its Snapchat obsession, which began with the launch, and subsequent dismantling, of an ephemeral messaging service called Poke and flopped with a rejected bid to buy the Snapchat itself for $3 billion late last year. In the wake of those two failed attempts to get in on the temporary messaging scene, it is reportedly preparing to launch Slingshot, yet another Snapchat clone whose development is said to be overseen by Mark Zuckerberg himself. A Financial Times report claims that the Facebook picture and video messaging service could launch as soon as this month. But is there even any point, given Snapchat's current hold on that particular market?
