After years of planning and money spent, New York City's 2nd Avenue subway line is shaping up to be kind of a big deal.

Phase 1, which began in 2010, is almost finished. When finished, it will transport roughly 200,000 passengers from 63rd Street to 96th Street. When all four phases have been completed, it'll run from 125th street to Hanover Square.

Gizmodo took a tour of the underground wonder recently, and it's like traveling to another world. Marvel at its excellence.
