Following an early-May incident where Texas Open Carry enthusiasts were refused service by Chili's and Sonic, both restaurants have issued official statements asking customers not to bring firearms into their establishments. Pretty direct, no?
To clear up any confusion, Patrick Lenow, Sonic's Vice President of Public Relations, offered this statement to BuzzFeed:
None
Piggybacking off of that, Brinker International, which Chili's falls under, delivered their thoughts on the issue:
None
Mind you, this comes in the wake of open-carry supporters causing a stir at a Dallas Chipotle earlier this month. It isn't that hard to grasp that the sight of firearms at a restaurant might make some people uncomfortable, is it? Guns and restaurants don't really mix.
