When people spend time bragging about the accomplishments of their parents, children, or siblings, the only thing going through the head of the person listening is "Then what the Hell happened to you?" It's natural to be proud of your family. That's a sign of a healthy relationship. Just understand that when you go on and on about the athletic prowess of your younger sister or the As Seen on TV product your father invented, you are telling your co-workers and friends about complete strangers. You might as well be extolling the virtues of the guy that runs karaoke night at the bar or the gentleman who washes your windows at the intersection even when you ask him not to.
