There comes an important time in many people's lives when they have a child. The child must be named, and some people can't go the simple "Jack" or "Jill" route. Sometimes they get creative and make things up (please don't do this, it's not anywhere near fun having a name people cannot pronounce). Sometimes the names are inspired by things—anywhere from states, to cars, to food. In this case...well, names are inspired by TV characters.

According to Laura Wattenberg, “The Baby Name Wizard” blogger, last year 146 American girls were named Khaleesi, from Game of Thrones. Wattenberg says the name saw a 450% increase from 2011 and before then, there were no Khaleesi's—which makes sense, seeing as the name is totally made up for the A Song of Ice and Fire series. The name Arya experienced a surge as well, due to the character Arya Stark in the series.

Sadly, in 2009 Isabella and Jacob are still among the most popular baby names in the U.S, and we can all can thank Twilight for that.

Also, according to Reuters“Maci and Bentley were the names with the greatest increases in popularity.” Maci and Bentley are from the reality show Teen Mom. So, people are being inspied by a show about teen mothers. That's where we're at.
