According to Variety, 20th Century Fox has found its new Doctor Doom for the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot in actor Toby Kebbell. Kebbell beat out a long line of actors for the part, including Jack Huston and Domhnall Gleeson. There was even a rumor at one point that the studio could switch Doom’s gender to female, which likely would have caused a digital riot among the comic fan community.
In the film, Kubbell will fight it out with Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell, who were cast earlier as the Fantastic Four themselves. The movie is slated to start filming this spring, and you can see Kubbell later this year in motion capture form as Koba in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
The Fantastic Four will be directed by Josh Trank and will hit theaters on June 19, 2015.
