President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama went to watch the Broadway revival of "A Raisin in the Sun," starring Denzel Washington, at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on Friday.
According to Eonline, "During the curtain call and eventual standing ovation, Washington acknowledged the Obamas as he pointed and tipped his hat to the first couple."
During intermission, the first couple went backstage to meet and take photographs with the cast.
"A Raisin in the Sun" tells the story of three generations of the Younger family in Chicago's South Side. The show also stars Anika Noni Rose, LaTanya Richardson, Bryce Clyde Jenkins and Sophie Okonedo.
