Starz has announced today that they’re teaming up with Seth MacFarlane to produce Blunt Talk, a comedy series starring Patrick Stewart (X-Men: Days of Future Past). The show received a two season order, and will premiere in 2015.

Stewart will play Walter Blunt, a British talk show host looking to conquer American television (think Piers Morgan). Of course, there are also a number of ex-wives, crazy co-workers, and what sounds like an alcoholic butler to ensure mayhem will ensue from the opening shot of the series.

Starz CEO Chris Albrecht says that:

“In the character of Walter Blunt, Seth, Jonathan and Patrick have found the alchemy that makes a borderline alcoholic, mad-genius-Brit the man you want fighting in America’s corner. Seth and Jonathan have struck the right balance between biting wit and outright absurdity in building this world, and we cannot wait for Patrick to breathe life into Walter.”

Stewart and MacFarlane do have a history of working together; Stewart has done voiceover work on both Family Guy and American Dad, and also served as the narrator of Ted. While it’s uncharted territory for their partnership as they venture into live-action TV, knowing both men we have little doubt they’ll be a success.
