A Pittsburgh man is lucky to be alive after getting a chain saw blade stuck in his neck on Monday.

The Huffington Post reports that James Valentine, 21, got the blade lodged in his neck while he was in a tree in Ross Township, Pa. on Monday. Valentine, who works for Adler Tree Service, was helped out of the tree by one co-worker, while a group of them decided to leave the blade in place so Valentine wouldn't bleed out.

Valentine was rushed to Allegheny General Hospital for surgery, and doctors say the blade missed every major artery. Miraculously, it only cut into muscle. This is among the many factors that ultimately saved Valentine's life.
