What happens in Vegas for George Clooney, apparently, does not always stay in Vegas.
The megastar was dining out with friend and casino magnate Steve Wynn when it seems the conversation turned to politics. As these situations often do, it quickly devolved into petty insults and one of the men storming off into the night.
Rather than try to rehash the tale, we’ll let the two principal members of the argument tell their story. Both spoke with the Las Vegas Review-Journal, spinning very different tales. Here’s what Clooney said in a statement via his publicist:
“There were nine people at that table, so you can ask them. Steve likes to go on rants.
Wynn, as you might expect, did not have quite the same view on the situation. He said:
“[Clooney] sat down and started talking about the Affordable Care Act, and that’s when I spoke up. He didn’t like that either. I think my discussion about the Affordable Care Act was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Will we ever know the truth? Does it really matter? The answer to both questions is probably no. But, if we’re really thinking about it, isn’t it totally believable that Clooney (not one to hide his political views) would get bent out of shape about a silly comment like Wynn’s? #smugalert.
