Game of Thrones had a spectacular premiere in more ways than just the insane plot twists (and that ending!): According to ratings, viewership was WAY up last night.
Entertainment Weeklyreports that the fourth season premiere of the fantasy show drew in 6.6 million viewers, which makes the episode the most watched on the premium cable network since The Sopranos’ series finale in 2007, which pulled in 11.9 million viewers.
For some perspective: Season three's premiere of GoT pulled in 4.4 million viewers, and the high point came during the sixth episode with 5.5 million viewers.
