A David Fincher + Aaron Sorkin reunion is looking less likely.
It is being reported that Fincher is out as director of Sony's Steve Job's biopic that was adapted from the Walter Isaacson biography by Sorkin. According to The Hollywood Reporter Fincher is demanding $10 million upfront from the studio and control over marketing.
An anonymous source with ties to the studio told The Hollywood Reporter that Fincher could re-enter negotiations to direct the movie, but called his fee “ridiculous,” and added: “You’re not doing Transformers here. You’re not doing Captain America. This is quality — it’s not screaming commerciality. He should be rewarded in success, but not up front.”
Good point. However, if you want the best. You gotta pay for the best.
