If you weren't aware already, FX remade the classic Coen Brothers movie Fargo, and turned it into an anthology series. It's not set to premiere until later this month, but today, the network released the first seven minutes of the series—and, luckily for those of you doubting it, it looks like it holds up. The best thing that we can tell from the sneak peek is that the TV series borrows the atmosphere from the movie, but it will still be pretty fresh on its own. Additionally, the plot is apparently based on a true story, so...creepy.
Fargo stars Martin Freeman, Allison Tolman, Billy Bob Thornton, Colin Hanks, and Bob Odenkirk, and debuts Tuesday, April 15 at 10 on FX.
