When Facebook bought WhatsApp, a lot of people (and rightly so) forgot about the company's other app: Facebook Messenger. Now there may be a reason to dust off the app once again.
The social network introduced a voice calling feature for Facebook Messenger on iOS and Android that lets users call their Facebook friends for free. It's not much different than other apps that let users make calls, like Viber and WeChat, but depending on how much a user engages with Facebook, all those contacts (friends) they may have on Facebook already sets Messenger apart from the competition.
To make calls, just open your contacts within Facebook Messenger and there should be a phone icon next to their names — all you and the person you're calling need is a Wi-Fi connection or data.
