As of right now, Marvel is planning on releasing Captain America 3 on May 6, 2016 — the same day that Warner Bros. is putting out the yet-untitled Batman/Superman movie. It’s highly unlikely that this head-to-head superhero showdown will actually come to fruition, but as of right now, neither studio is blinking. That doesn’t mean they’re not preparing to, though. According to Variety’s Brent Lang (via Bleeding Cool), Disney chairman, Alan Horn, had this to say about the situation:

"We'll see. We're struggling with it" Alan Horn on #CaptainAmerica3 debuting against #BatmanvsSuperman

It’s obvious that neither studio wants to be anywhere near this release date; however, they don’t want to be the first to back down. Because, ya know, maturity and all that. One of them will most likely wind up moving; it just depends which studio is the first to realize how much they stand to lose if they go ahead with this needless competition.
