It's pretty much expected that superhero movies are going to have huge openings these days, but Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which came out yesterday, is already breaking box office records. It made $37 million on its first day, and is could even hit $100 million this weekend. It's the biggest April opening since 2011's Fast Five (that's the millionth The Fast and the Furious sequel).

The first Captain America film, The First Avenger, earned $207 million its opening weekend—this biggest domestic opening ever. This weekend, though, biblical epic Noah came in second, with Divergent in third, passing the $100 million mark.
