Get ready for your TV shows to get that much more quality: Cementing the idea that TV is now overtaking movies as the entertainment medium du jour that Hollywood's biggest actors are clamouring to be apart of, The A.V. Club is reporting that Megan Ellison's Annapurna Pictures is making a move to television.
If you haven't heard of Annapurna Pictures itself, there's a great chance you've heard of the movies they've produced and financed: Three were Best Picture nominees this decade, including Zero Dark Thirty and American Hustle.
According to the press release, the production company's first product will be "set in the Golden Age of Hollywood and focus on the intersection of lives between Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich," and is being penned by Angela Robinson and Alex Kondracke. There's no network attached to the project yet, but hopefully they'll take Mad Men ending soon as a sign that AMC needs to fill its period drama quota with a new show ASAP.
