There's nothing wrong with a good April Fool's Day stunt, but a South Carolina woman took it too far—and got arrested as a result.
According to WLTX, Angela Timmons, 54, was arrested for allegedly reporting a shooting a Virginia College in Spartanburg, S.C. yesterday. Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright said that over a dozen deputies responded to the call, where a woman reportedly told a dispatcher that she received a text from her mother about shots being fired on campus.
The daughter called 911 when her mother stopped responding to texts. Deputies eventually arrived to find no active shooter situation, and Wright was subsequently arrested after admitting to making the whole thing up.
Timmons, who works at Viriginia College (for the time being), was charged with disturbing schools.
