A14-year-old Dutch teenager who stupidly made a terrorist threat towards American Airlines on Twitter yesterday has now been arrested after turning herself in.
"We're not in a state that we can communicate any state of charges at this point. We just thought it was necessary to bring this out mostly because of the fact that it caused a great deal of interest on the Internet," said a Dutch police spokesman. Sarah, as she goes by on Twitter, allegedly turned herself in after police were able to identify her. The FBI and American Airlines weren't even involved in the arrest, but since it gained so much interest on the Internet, the police in The Netherlands investigated.
Let this be a lesson to you teenagers out there: social media is social, and people can see what you post. Buy a diary if you want to be stupid.
