Amazon Reveals $99 'Amazon Fire TV' Game, Movie Streaming Device [UPDATE]

Amazon states in a press release that the Fire TV includes a dual-antenna Wi-Fi, voice search, an "ASAP Feature" that predicts which movies and TV episodes users will want to watch and "prepares them for playback before you even hit play." It will include over 200,000 movies and TV episodes.

As far as gaming, Fire TV come with access to games from EA, Disney, Gameloft, Mojang, 2K, Amazon Game Studios, "and more." Games announced for the Fire TV starting today are: Minecraft, Monsters University, The Game of Life, The Walking Dead, NBA2K14, Asphalt 8, Riptide GP2, Despicable Me: Minion Rush as well as over 100 other games. Amazon says the average price of a game with be $1.85

The Fire TV will also come with Sev Zero, a exclusive game from Amazon Game Studios and comes included when users purchase the Fire game controller which will retail at $39.99, the Fire TV itself sells for $99 and is available today at Amazon.

Amazon announced today its secret black box, the Amazon Fire TV, that will allow the streaming of movies and games over the web. The Fire TV features 2GB of RAM and a processor “usually found in smartphones.” The Android based operating systems also has voice search for games and movies.

Users will also be able to download apps such as Twitch, WWE Network, Watch ESPN, Netflix and Hulu Plus as well Amazon's own Instant Video.

Check out Amazon's chunky Bluetooth Gamepad in the gallery above. The company is also teasing new games from Amazon Game Studios which purchased developer Double Helix back in 2012, the studio behind Killer Instinct.
