Last week, concertgoers at South by Southwest was stunned by a tragic accident: Suspected drunk driver Rashad Charjuan had barreled through a crowded pedestrian area in front of the House of Vans hitting many people with his car. For a festival where the mood is usually celebratory, the events cast a dark pallor and left friends and family of the victims stunned. A week later, the death toll from the event has risen to three, with many more injured. With the aim of aiding those affected by the tragedy, the Austin Community Foundation has set up a charity fund. Donations will help pay for medical bills, travel expense, and more for the victims.
