Amy Hennig, the creative director and writer for the Uncharted series, has left developer Naughty Dog, IGN reported last night.
Sony has confirmed Hennig's departure. Her last day at the studio was March 3.
"We can confirm that Amy Hennig has left Naughty Dog," a spokesperson told IGN. "Amy has made significant contributions to the game industry and we appreciate all she has done for Naughty Dog. The development timeline of Uncharted will not be impacted."
Rumors have swirled that Hennig was forced out by studio politics, with The Last of Us' creative director Neil Druckmann and game director Bruce Straley leading the charge. Uncharted may now be under their creative control, but this is not yet confirmed.
Hennig departs from Naughty Dog after ten years of service, working as the director and writer for Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. She was serving the same role on the upcoming Uncharted title for PlayStation 4, but Sony claims development will not be impacted.
