Before it came out the DS seemed like one of Nintendo's wackier ideas.

And that's saying something.

Considering this is the company that actually tried to sell crap like the Virtual Boy and Powerglove. But damn it all if the DS didn't defy everyone's expectations.

It seemed destined to lose to technologically superior competitors, and it took a long time for people to understand how cool having two screens could be. Now it's hard to imagine a Nintendo handheld with just one display.

And it helped a ton that over the years the DS got a whole bunch of just plain excellent games. It even had the 3rd-party support that Nintendo lacks in its living room consoles. Now if only Nintendo could solve its problems with the Wii U so easily…

There were plenty to choose from, but these are Complex's 15 best Nintendo DS games.
