Authorities say two SUNY College of Brockport students were arrested after a photo showing a dog doing a keg stand surfaced.

Gothamist reports that Robert Yates and Shane Oliver, both 20, were taken into custody yesterday. Yates allegedly took the photo while Oliver held the dog; both face charges for torturing and injuring an animal.

According to Time Warner Cable News, Yates' roommates said Mya, the four-month-old black lab, belonged to another man that lived in the home. The dog is in good health after being taken to a local animal shelter for treatment. Luke Bondi, one of Yates' roommates, spoke highly of Yates despite his actions.

"Bobby's probably one of the nicest kids I've ever met here on campus. He's such a hard worker and he cares about everyone," he said. "Bobby's not that type of person. If anyone's looking at this story, it's a complete misunderstanding."

The school released a statement explaining that it plans to conduct its own investigation: "We were alarmed to learn of this disturbing photo. The College is investigating this matter and will take appropriate action once the details surrounding the photo are learned."
